Recommendations for the care and maintenance of soluble cutting fluids*
- Add concentrate to water, not the other way around.
- Do not store prepared emulsions - always mix fresh according to requirements.
- Monitor and record coolant concentrations and conditions regularly and take necessary corrective actions promptly.
- Keep systems clean and free from contamination.
- Regularly remove oil that has entered the coolant.
- Ensure that all leaks of hydraulic oil, gear oil and other lubricants are repaired immediately.
- Maintain coolant concentration at recommended level with acceptable tolerance for slideway/hydraulic oil contamination.
- Do not use contaminated water, such as from fire sprinkler systems or wells.
- Do not add clean coolant to contaminated equipment. Use a system cleaner and follow the cleaning procedure carefully.
- Do not allow machines filled with cutting fluid to sit idle for long periods of time, especially if the coolant is contaminated with “trapped oil”.
- Do not mix products in contaminated or galvanized containers.
- Do not add water. Always use freshly diluted emulsion.
