The load index of a tire is the maximum load capacity in kilograms that a given tire can carry at a given speed and air pressure. The higher the load index, the more weight the tire can carry. This is an important parameter that allows you to choose tires that meet the needs of your vehicle. The load index is especially important for vehicles that regularly carry heavy loads, such as commercial vehicles and pickup trucks.

Load indexes are presented as two or three digits and are usually indicated on the sidewall of the tire, between the tire size and the speed index. For example, in the case of "195/65 R15 91T," the maximum load capacity of one tire is 615 kg, and the total weight of the vehicle must not exceed 2460 kg. The table below shows the most common load indexes for passenger cars, SUVs, and commercial vehicles.
